Greenhouse framing in progress!

February 13th
(posting photo on Valentine's)

It has been a strangely dry winter. The rains have to be coming. We're aiming to get the roof on next Friday the 20th.

February 6th & 7th

The little greenhouse model is coming to life! Tall and making me want to be a little plant and live in it... Temporary bracing and two holes dug for the "hurricane" feet on the north side - to anchor our mobile greenhouse. This is what I found when I came back from a section of the WSU & Fresh Earth Gardens 'Modern Organic Farming on Small Acreage' class. Rode up with Anne of Gales Meadow Farm to see her seed presentation. Speaking there next weekend on organic amendments and fertilizer.
Neil is awesome. Hot, sunny day on Saturday!

We leveled the two floor sections and Neil installed the south wall while I was at a chicken workshop in WA. We primed and painted lots of boards in the basement for next week.

caught in a vortex

Not sure I could stop the greenhouse at this point. I am driven by dark unseen forces. I was out there in the dark last night tired from work just standing and staring at the tarp covered shape and wondering why i am building a greenhouse on a rental property and not looking for a real career. BUT I always did like the scene in Close Encounters of the Third Kind where the dad guy freaks out and builds a model of Devil's Tower in his living room. Needed 2 10' 2x4's so i did hit Home Depot for those.
